Seven programmes, one goal: every child learning.
From a hot lunch at noon to a voice in national policy — each programme removes one more barrier between a child and a quality education.
School Lunch Programme
A hungry child cannot concentrate, cannot play, and too often stops coming to school altogether. Our lunch programme makes sure the children we support are served a healthy, hot meal at school every single day.
Today, 55 children at Kagira Primary School and Ruthimitu Primary School in Dagoretti receive a hot lunch through this programme — and we grow some of the food ourselves in our school diet gardens.
Support this programmeChild Education Support
We pay school fees and tuition directly, and provide uniforms, shoes and stationery so that children who would otherwise be locked out of formal education can attend school with dignity.
Unlike a one-size-fits-all approach, we track every child individually and tailor our support to their circumstances, career projection and potential. One child at a time.
Support this programmeEnvironmental Programme
Together with the children, we have planted and continue to care for more than 5,660 trees across six public primary schools, two high schools and one technical school in the greater Dagoretti South Constituency — and we have extended the work to Kajiado and Nanyuki.
Our partners in this work include the Kenya Forest Service and Equity Bank Kawangware, who provide the trees, and Studio Nga’ari Foundation and Kenya Biodiversity, who provide technical and ground support.
Support this programmeDiet Gardens
With a seed grant from The Pollination Project (USA), we have created four diet gardens — two in Dagoretti South and two in Nanyuki. Children plant, till and care for the gardens themselves, learning about diet, food production and the environment.
The proceeds from the gardens supplement the school food programme, and each garden is handed over to the school’s 4K Club so the learning keeps growing.
Support this programmeLeadership & Mentorship
During school holidays we run workshops, trainings and retreats where the children learn soft skills, project leadership, entrepreneurship and community service.
On a good holiday there are also trips for swimming and games — because childhood should include joy. Our goal is for the children we support to take up leadership roles that shape their future and that of others.
Support this programmeWASH — Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
Children thrive when they are healthy. Our WASH programme teaches the basics of hygiene and health, with constant reinforcement of handwashing practice and the supplies to make it possible in all our partner schools.
Support this programmeCommunity Outreach & Advocacy
Young people have a right to participate in the policies that shape their future. We encourage the children and youth we work with to raise their voices in intergenerational dialogues, policy spaces and government events.
We also advocate for institutional reforms — especially in the allocation of school slots — so that marginalised children get the same chances to join higher learning as their counterparts.
